Pools & Leisure (Ire) awarded new M&E contract for Woolston Hub in Warrington Borough Council

Warrington Borough Council has agreed to invest £1.1 million from its capital investment programme to improve the neighbourhood hub run by LiveWire.

The cash boost will enable LiveWire to carry out much needed repairs to heating systems, the plant room and pipes under the swimming pool and the results will directly benefit customers.

As a result of this work we have been awarded a substantial contract for this work at Woolston Hub Leisure

Cllr Kate Hannon, executive board member for leisure, community and culture, said:

“We have ambitious plans to improve the health and wellbeing of our residents. If we are to encourage people to have happy, healthy lifestyles it is important that we invest and improve our facilities so we can encourage more people of all ages and abilities to take up sports or physical activity.

“Investment from our capital programme in Woolston Hub will make a huge difference to the leisure services available and in turn will have a positive impact on people’s lives.”

Vicky Dunning, LiveWire’s Strategic Lead for Leisure Facilities, said:

“LiveWire are delighted at Warrington Borough Council’s investment and commitment in the town’s health and wellbeing by investing £1.1 million from their Capital Investment Programme into the pool at Woolston Neighbourhood Hub to ensure its long term viability.

The work from commencement November 2015 will last approximately 5 months and gives us huge confidence boost following a similar successful contact completed on time for Gilbert Ash in South Kensington,London in November 2015
